Being a teenager can bring significant emotional and social pressures. Young people may struggle with anxiety, friendships, family relationships, confidence, school pressures, body image, grief, identity or simply finding it difficult to explain how they feel.
Counselling can provide a space away from everyday pressures where a young person can talk openly and be listened to without judgement. I aim to build a trusting relationship at the young person's pace, helping them feel heard while developing greater understanding and coping strategies
Every teenager is different, but counselling can be helpful when a young person is experiencing things such as:
Anxiety or constant worrying
Low mood
Low confidence or self-esteem
Difficulties with friendships
Family conflict
School or exam pressures
Feeling overwhelmed
Anger or frustration
Grief and loss
Body image concerns
Difficult experiences or trauma
Changes at home
Difficulties expressing emotions
Feeling isolated or misunderstood
Struggling to cope with everyday life
Sometimes there isn't one obvious reason. A young person may simply feel that something isn't right. That's okay too.
